+Gabriëlskloof winery is in the Bot River ward, part of the greater Walker Bay region. Our winemaking philosophy is one of minimal intervention, only taking action where necessary. We believe this is the only way to give prominence to and reflect our terroir.
Rosebud is the little darling of our Gabriëlskloof Range (which also includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, The Blend and Syrah).
The 2021 harvest stood out for consistent cooler weather throughout the growing and ripening period, leading to slower ripening and increased flavour development.
The 2021 Rosebud consists of mostly Syrah (94%) with a dash of Viognier. These were whole bunch pressed and fermented and aged separately in tanks before blending and bottling.
Beautifully fresh and spicy with watermelon, papaya, white peach and hints of grapefruit on the nose. The palate is juicy and dry with a lingering freshness that will keep calling you back for more. Best enjoyed between 8 ̊C and 10 ̊C, within a year or two of vintage and perfect as an accompaniment to various lighter dishes.
