Full bodied, 25% new oak white blend of – Stellenbosch Sauvignon blanc, Viognier, Swartland Fernao Pires and Voor Paardeberg Grenache blanc.
It all started in 2011 with one German, the Hinterhofkabuff and a 2010-Stellenbosch-cast-away-in-the-corner red wine called THE BOMB. With a alcohol of 16.24 I thought the wine had no future. Boy was I wrong. My South African clients, the Swiss and the Germans were onto that wine like a pure bred Strand residents onto a green hatchback Ford Sierra. It sold at the speed of lightning.
Anyhow; Mid 2012 my phone rang and a German accent from Frankfurt said: “Pieter, I need a white bomb”… Pieter: “a white what?????” German voice: “a high octane white wine that is over the top in every aspect of wine, yet balanced”. In other words – much like a silver Belville CY registered 1995 Honda ballade, with low profile hancoocks, old man emo shocks, florescent shashi lighting, dropped bucket seats and a knight rider steering wheel – everything in over-abundance.
