“Leaving our footprints and soul in the vineyard and living our passion in the cellar.” A desire to exemplify the traits of the mountain vineyard site, to capture the ethos and distinct sense of place, resulted in this noble wine being released as a single varietal. A wine of distinction that will reward careful cellaring and patience.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS
Throughout the season, weather conditions were favourable. Sufficient cold units were accumulated during the winter to break dormancy, while rainfall was average. Favourable conditions continued throughout the growing season, which contributed to a somewhat earlier but even bud-break. Moderate summer temperatures allowed for excellent flavour retention in the berries. Smaller berries and a lighter crop resulted in beautiful concentration and made for a great season overall with exceptional wines.
MATURATION: 17 months in French oak barrels, 60% new
OPTIMUM SERVING TEMPERATURE: 17 – 18 °C
TASTING NOTES
COLOUR: Light garnet
NOSE: Savoury and alluring nose with morello cherry and black cherry aromatics with pencil shavings and nuances of tobacco leaf and black olive. Floral perfume unfurls in the glass as the wine opens up.
PALATE: A seamless, perfect expression of Cabernet Franc. Expressive minerality gives lift to the pure and vibrant notes of creamy red cherry, cranberry and black cherry on the palate further elevated by tobacco leaf on the finish. The decadent creamy texture is enveloping and is complemented by the fine dense powdery tannin structure and persistent dry finish.
GRAPE VARIETY: Cabernet Franc
