SAFFRONNE Cinsaut Blanc de Noir 2015
Light. Fresh. Crisp and dry. There’s no turning back.
The Saffronne Rosé has a lovely pomegranate colour with subtle aromas of warm earth and baked strawberry flan. The palate, with a pleasing alcohol of 11.5 percent, shows elegant flavours of red cherry leading into a crisp mineral dry finish.
This Rosé has been made from grapes which has been hand-picked from 30 year old Pinotage vines. The grapes were harvested close to a balling of 19 percent from old bush vines. The grapes were given overnight skin contact to extract colour and flavour and then gently pressed. The wine was put into small stainless steel tanks and left to ferment naturally until dry. It was kept on lees and stirred to build the palate body for 5 months.
It is a wine to be sipped while sitting under a veranda, taking in the view of beautiful people passing by while enjoying delicious food. The alluring scent of strawberries will tempt you to dab it on your wrist and wear it as a perfume.
Saffronne Rosé is neither filtered nor cold stabilised. Harmless crystals may occur.
